Mini Facelift Houston, TX

A facelift is a great way to reduce visible signs of aging if you are unhappy with the appearance of your face and neck. While a facelift can give you dramatic results, it’s a fairly intensive procedure that can require a lot of recovery time. Some individuals desire a more minor procedure that can revitalize their faces without as much downtime or strain—that’s why Dr. Leo Lapuerta offers his patient a mini facelift option.

Dr. Lapuerta is a triple-board-certified plastic surgeon with over two decades of experience performing facelifts for patients in Houston, Katy, Piney Point, and Pearland, TX, restoring their appearance by reducing visible signs of aging. Over the years, he has perfected the surgical technique needed to perform a mini facelift procedure to minimize the patient’s recovery time and costs.

What Is a Mini Facelift?

A mini facelift is a less invasive and extensive version of the traditional facelift, allowing patients to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin without as much recovery time as a classic facelift requires. As individuals age, skin loses its elasticity and sags and hangs, causing a once youthful and vibrant appearance to become marked by wrinkles and fine lines. A mini facelift aims to remedy these signs of ages on a smaller scale by focusing on the lower half of the face. Patients who have severely sagging skin and signs of aging will most likely opt for a full facelift, as the mini facelift can only address mild to moderate aesthetic issues.

Mini Facelift Procedure

Just because the procedure is referred to as “mini” does not mean the procedure is not a serious surgery, and it is important to take the entire process seriously and heed all of your plastic surgeon’s advice.

A mini facelift will require the use of anesthesia and will generally take somewhere between two and three hours. The procedure is identical to a traditional facelift, albeit on a smaller scale. Your plastic surgeon will make small incisions on the perimeter of your face, then remove any excess and unnecessary skin and tissue. Next, they will pull the remaining skin tight over your face, smoothing out any wrinkles and sagging skin. Finally, your surgeon will use sutures to close up all incisions, resulting in a smooth and more youthful appearance.

Mini Facelift Recovery

Mini facelift recovery is less intense than a traditional facelift, but you should still expect there to be some significant downtime following the procedure. After the surgery, you will have some stitches in your face where the incisions were made, as well as some bruising and swelling.

After around seven to 10 days, the stitches are removed and most patients can return to work and their normal, everyday life. Patients are advised to avoid heavy physical activity for at least four to six weeks after the surgery, as getting back into exercise too quickly after a mini facelift procedure can hinder the healing process.

Mini Facelift Cost

We have established that a mini facelift is a less invasive procedure, so it is reasonable to assume that the procedure costs less than a standard facelift. A facelift costs somewhere between $7,000 and $14,000, while a mini facelift usually costs between $3,500 and $8,000. To get an accurate cost, schedule a consultation with Dr. Lapuerta.
