This patient was diagnosed with breast cancer many years ago. Back then she had partial mastectomy and reconstruction with implants. She had visited with Dr. Lapuerta because the implants were possibly ruptured. Dr. Lapuerta mentioned that she could have a DIEP procedure which would use her stomach tissue and muscle to rebuild her breast. She proceeded with surgery and right now is getting ready to have nipple/areola reconstruction.
