This patient needed to have a bilateral mastectomy with her general surgeon. She had previous radiation to her right breast and now needed a mastectomy. She consulted with Dr. Lapuerta about her options for breast reconstruction. He recommended a TRAM flap procedure to reconstruct her breast because she had good donor abdominal tissue. After her first stage surgery, she then proceeded with a second stage to reconstruct her nipple areolar complex with tattooing. 1 year after surgery she feels wonderful and is completely cancer free!
