Dr. Leo Lapuerta is excited to offer the new ZO Skin Health line at The Plastic Surgery Institute of Southeast Texas in Houston, TX. The ZO Skincare line is the culmination of Dr. Zein Obagi’s lifetime of experience and research in dermatology. ZO Skin Health treatments and products are only available from select medical and skincare professionals, so triple board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Lapuerta is pleased to be able to share this innovative new line of skincare to treat acne, aging, hyperpigmentation, inflammation, rosacea, and sun damage.

Dr. Zein Obagi

Dr. Zein Obagi is a board-certified dermatologist and leading international authority on skin health. For over 30 years, Dr. Obagi has researched and innovated to create medical skincare products and treatments that have revolutionized the world’s ideas about skincare. Dr. Obagi created the ZO Skin Health product line and treatments based on his vast experience and expertise in skincare products. ZO Skin Health Circle™

In order to create an effective skincare line, Dr. Obagi focused on four areas to create the ZO Skin Health Circle philosophy. The products and programs start with therapeutic treatments to correct medical conditions, then patients can continue to return for maintenance treatments until their condition is corrected. Once patients have achieved healthy skin through treatments, their skincare professional will help them choose the proper products for their daily skincare routine. This will include products that keep the skin healthy and prevent further damage.

ZO Medical

ZO Medical Products includes treatments that can be performed by a ZO authorized physician and products that the patient can use at home to continue their care until their next treatment. ZO Medical Products are put into several categories: Getting Skin Ready, Color Control & Correction, Exfoliation, Post Procedure, Deep Renewal & Stimulation, Hydration & Calming, Sun Protections, and ZO Signature Peels. ZO Medical Products can treat and reverse almost all skin conditions with its advanced skin therapy technology and total approach.

ZO Skin Health

ZO Skin Health products help patients maintain their healthy skin after their treatment program. ZO Skin Health includes several programs that have put together the daily products needed for several skin types, including All Skin Types, Daily Skincare, Anti-Aging, Aggressive Anti-Aging, and Acne Prevention + Treatment. Patients can also work with their skincare professional to create a customized skincare regimen with products from several categories: Getting Skin Ready, Strengthening Skin, Deep Renewal & Stimulation, Hydration & Calming, Sun Protection, Hand & Body Renewal, and Enhancers.

Expected Cost

Most people expect to be shocked at the price of professional skincare products, and depending on what you’re currently using, you may be. However, there are many reasons to invest in high-quality medical skincare products:

  • Products are chosen by a skincare professional for your individual needs
  • A higher concentration of active ingredients than cannot be found in over-the-counter products
  • Less product is used during each application so the product lasts longer than cheaper products.
  • Skin Health products and treatments are created by renowned dermatologist, Dr. Zein Obagi

ZO Skincare FAQs

ZO Vs. Over-the-counter?

ZO skincare can only be purchased at a physician or skin health professional’s office that is authorized by ZO to sell their products. Unlike over-the-counter products that can be purchased at a drug store or specialty beauty store, ZO products are scientifically advanced products that should only be used with professional guidance.

Price Ranges?

While ZO Skin Health products and treatments can be more expensive than more familiar brands, patients shouldn’t worry about spending a small fortune. The ZO Skin Health products for daily care range from $39 for the Offects® Exfoliating Cleanser to $295 for the 6-piece Aggressive Anti-Aging Program. ZO Medical products start at $45 for the AKNEBRIGHT™ Spot & Pigment Treatment and go as high as $260 for the 5-piece Non-Hydroquinone Hyperpigmentation System.

Prescription Products?

While all products and treatments from the ZO Skincare line should be recommended by a skincare or medical professional, certain ZO products are only available with a physician prescription. These products, MELAMIN™, MELAMIX™, and Tretinoin, include ingredients that must be used cautiously.
